- DDDDEEEESSSSCCCCRRRRIIIIPPPPTTTTIIIIOOOONNNN
- ggggrrrrooooffffffff is a front-end to the groff document formatting
- system. Normally it runs the ggggttttrrrrooooffffffff program and a
- postprocessor appropriate for the selected device.
- Available devices are:
-
- ppppssss For PostScript printers and previewers
-
- ddddvvvviiii For TeX dvi format
-
- XXXX77775555 For a 75 dpi X11 previewer
-
- XXXX111100000000 For a 100dpi X11 previewer
-
- aaaasssscccciiiiiiii
- For typewriter-like devices
-
- llllaaaattttiiiinnnn1111
- For typewriter-like devices using the ISO Latin-1
- character set.
-
- The postprocessor to be used for a device is specified by
- the ppppoooossssttttpppprrrroooo command in the device description file. This
- can be overridden with the ----XXXX option.
-
- The default device is ppppssss. It can optionally preprocess with
- any of ggggppppiiiicccc, ggggeeeeqqqqnnnn, ggggttttbbbbllll, ggggrrrreeeeffffeeeerrrr, or ggggssssooooeeeelllliiiimmmm....
-
- Options without an argument can be grouped behind a single
- ----. A filename of ---- denotes the standard input.
-
- The ggggrrrroooogggg command can be used to guess the correct groff
- command to use to format a file.
-
- OOOOPPPPTTTTIIIIOOOONNNNSSSS
- ----hhhh Print a help message.
-
- ----eeee Preprocess with geqn.
-
- ----tttt Preprocess with gtbl.
-
- ----pppp Preprocess with gpic.
-
- ----ssss Preprocess with gsoelim.

-
-
-
- ----RRRR Preprocess with grefer. No mechanism is provided for
- passing arguments to ggggrrrreeeeffffeeeerrrr because most grefer options
- have equivalent commands which can be included in the
- file. See ggggrrrreeeeffffeeeerrrr(1) for more details.
-
- ----vvvv Make programs run by ggggrrrrooooffffffff print out their version
- number.
-
- ----VVVV Print the pipeline on stdout instead of executing it.
-
- ----zzzz Suppress output from ggggttttrrrrooooffffffff. Only error messages will
- be printed.
-
- ----ZZZZ Do not postprocess the output of ggggttttrrrrooooffffffff. Normally
- ggggrrrrooooffffffff will automatically run the appropriate
- postprocessor.
-
- ----PPPP_a_r_g
- Pass _a_r_g to the postprocessor. Each argument should be
- passed with a separate ----PPPP option. Note that ggggrrrrooooffffffff does
- not prepend ---- to _a_r_g before passing it to the
- postprocessor.
-
- ----llll Send the output to a printer. The command used for
- this is specified by the pppprrrriiiinnnntttt command in the device
- description file.
-
- ----LLLL_a_r_g
- Pass _a_r_g to the spooler. Each argument should be
- passed with a separate ----LLLL option. Note that ggggrrrrooooffffffff does
- not prepend ---- to _a_r_g before passing it to the
- postprocessor.
-
- ----TTTT_d_e_v
- Prepare output for device _d_e_v. The default device is
- ppppssss.
-
- ----XXXX Preview with ggggxxxxddddiiiittttvvvviiiieeeewwww instead of using the usual
- postprocessor. This is unlikely to produce good
- results except with ----TTTTppppssss.
-
- ----NNNN Don't allow newlines with eqn delimiters. This is the
- same as the ----NNNN option in ggggeeeeqqqqnnnn.

- files will be created in ////ttttmmmmpppp. The ggggrrrrooooppppssss(1) and
- ggggrrrreeeeffffeeeerrrr(1) commands can create temporary files.
